15. Why is my gun double shoot / overspin when shooting on SEMI?

A: This is a known phenomenon when the following conditions are met.

1. Spring rating below m120
2. Strong torque motor is installed
3. 11.1v batteries with High discharge like +20c and combined with a high mAH.

Krytac Trident series builded for US region* are pre-installed with a Neodymium Magnet Motor.  These are high performance and high torque motors.  When the battery discharge, the motor does not require a lot of power to spin. Conversely, when combined with less resistance with weak spring and excessive current (high discharge batteries).  The motor can be easily overspin which result in double shoot.

There are few work around.

1. Install a higher tension spring so more resistance for the motor and less likely to overspin.

or

2. Switch to a weaker non-Neodymium Magnet motor.

or

3. Use a battery that doesn't have high discharge rate.  Usually a 15c to 20c will resolve this issue.  However, some 20c will still exhibit this issue until the voltage dropped below 12v.

* Bare in mind that Krytac Trident series have multiple configurations that is build for different regions around the world based on their FPS regulations.  Some Trident series have a weaker spring like M100 or M90.  They also paired with a standard motor to balance the performance.  Those configuration are more suitable to use with a 9.6v NiMH or 7.4v LiPO batteries.

16. I live in UK/EU and I notice my Trident's gearbox doesn't have the same gold color like in US.  Why is that?

A: The initial batch of Trident series shipped to UK/EU didn't make it in time for RoHS certification therefore we decided not to use the protective coating which is used for US shipment.  We have now changed the formula of the protective coating so all new Trident series gearbox will have the same coating that's approved by RoHS.

17. Can I remove the FUSE since my gearbox have a MOSFET?

A: NO!!  The fuse is EXTREMELY important especially the circuit is more than a simple On/Off switch.

The MOSFET is NOT a fuse, It will fail due to stress/overheat.
Without the fuse, the MOSFET will melt. And when it melt.  There are three possible scenarios.

1. The gun just stop working.

2. MOSFET is broken and the gate open so the gun will fire continuously even without pulling the trigger.

3. MOSFET is melted and create a cross wire.  This will cause the Lipo battery rapidly overheat, expand and explode.

PLEASE DO NOT BYPASS THE FUSE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.
