Hi guys I have a new lvoa-c and have used it on two occasions. It fires the first 10-15 shots with hardly any power, dropping 20-30 feet away then suddenly fires lasers for miles, I'm new to the sport so can't really figure it out, cheers any suggestions?

This is kinda normal. There's two forces at work here.

1. The gun is brand new so it has some packing oil or material flash in the barrel. So this will decelerate rounds on arrival.

2. The gun bangs around the box when we ship it, so sometimes it'll collect dust and junk all over the insides.

This is why we recommend users give the barrel a quick wipedown before taking it to the range.

You haven't discovered 3. This is when your gun's performance increases in the first 2000 rounds because the piston and other internals have to settle. We call this process "breaking in" or "seasoning."

Yeah cheers that sounds feasible I'll try giving the barrel a good clean and see how it goes. Like I said after the initial few shots this thing shoots lasers, I almost feel guilty for owning it haha. Cheers guys.

I’ve had my gun for close to a year now and still have the afromented issue, about 10-20 shots will shoot about 30ft and then will “magically” just start shooting correctly.

I have tried multiple magazines thinking they were the issue because when you load a new mag it will start having the same issue....

I’ve also taken my gun to a shop to have a Prometheus barrel and bucking in thinking THAT may be the issue, and still no, same issue. The gun shop kept it for two weeks scratching their heads because they could never figure why it was doing this.

We’ve tried shimming the mags, more mags, the recommended pts epm mags, bamf mags... too many mags to list, and no it still has the issue.

I’d really like to get this sorted out, it’s put me in some ETREMELY annoying spots on the field and it’s always in a situation it doesn’t need to happen.

Try putting less bbs in your magazine.

If your mag holds 130.  Load 110...does sit still do the weak shots?

yep... I thought I had stated that I guess not, I’ve tried everything I could try with mags in any configuration, all different mags full, all different mags half full, all different mags almost empty(2 cranks on an Odin) high caps low caps mid caps... I don’t think it’s a mag issue at this point... even with like 20bbs in a 180rd madcap it still has the same issue, all but like 4-5 bbs will fire incorrectly. This is why I’ve changed barrel bucking and nub, and even after changing that it still has same issue.

Side note: gearbox has never been opened. Didn’t want warranty telling me, you’ve had it open can’t warranty, so I’ve never touched that.

Step 1. Flat hop it, cheap an easy..well free for most. 2 check battery. I presume your using a lipo right? If not get one. To each his own but I only run 11.1's in all my guns. I find I will get weird issues like this when using 7.4s. 2 check motor. Attempt a swap if possible.

Try this instead.

Hop-up off and fire the AEG upside down...still weak shots?

It’s been freshly “r” hopped (less than two games ago) it was doing this with the factory bucking and nub-FYI

I’ve always ran 11.1 v 20c lipo...( why in the world would anyone buy a nickel in this day and age

I’ve tried 7.4v and 9v just because I though I may be over powering it (I dunno it was a shot in the dark)

Does the AEG sound different during the weak shots?

Like a PoompF, PoompF, PoompF, PoompF, PoompF, PoompF, PoompF, PoompF, -clears- Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop.

And it does this with "Each" mag change?

Negatory there’s no difference in the way it sounds at any point indicating something like a weak battery, gears binding, etc...

Believe it or not once the gun starts shooting correctly you can take the mag out, pop it back in and it’ll do it again. I learned this when I bumped the mag release one time during a firefight.

Is the cylinder air tube secure and not loose and is the nozzle undamaged?

I had a wiggly cylinder head air nozzle once that would now and then back up during a mag change and then the piston would eventually push it back into position...
