Hello,

I recently bought my Krytac Lvoa S ( second one) and i saw that the magnets from the motor are black. I have another neodymium magnet motor that has silver magnets. I read that krytac’s motors have neodymium magnets, then why are they black just like the ferrite made ones.?

Thanks

It's a different kind of neodynium. The plated one is called "Sintered Neodymium" which is typically the strongest(and torquiest) type of neodymium. But it's molecular structure is also very brittle and prone to cracking under heat. The plating is to keep the magnet together, but if it cracks the whole magnet will collapse under itself.

The Krytac one is "Bonded Neodymium" which is a mixed composite. While it is not as strong(and torquey) as Sintered, it does have far better resistance to shock and heat.

Shock and Heat are things an AEG motor will go through as it spins up and stops abruptly by the anti-reverse latch. So Bonded Neodymium makes a better choice for a stock gun.

Hey Kraken!

Thank you so much for the update. Here everybody uses VFC, G&G and others, rarely I see somebody with a Krytac. I love my Lvoa, and for me it could had a wooden motor, I still loved it. I am proud to be in this big family, happy to meet you all here, and happy to play airsoft behind a little beast now. Thank you for making this gun, MY dream gun. Sincerely, Iulian -Romania.
