Hello, I am new to airsoft. I recently bought a SPR from someone local. The gun case with a midcap hexmag. To test the gun I also bought a chrono and a couple of K120 mags.

I am having issues where my k120s will consistently shoot about 250fps with .28bbs. One of the mags will shoot about 270. Using the hexmag I am getting around 355 with the same .28bbs. I have also tried the same with .20. With the k120s I am about 300fps, with the Hexmag I am getting 395 consistently. Also, when I over fill the hexmag my FPS will be very low and double feed for the first 20 or so rounds.

Can anyone let me know what might be happening? Thanks for the help!

I also have had trouble with the K120 midcaps, but there are mixed reports on them so you will have to go to the mag category and do the reading yourself. However, just try not to overfill your hexmag and if both mags consistently keep jamming, try routine spring stretching and maintenince.

Thank you for the reply but the issue is not jamming. It’s a the FPS drop that I get.

in my experience, the K120 dimension for the bb port is 1mm or greater forward, which forces a single-piece (krytac style) hopup to break compression.

What's incredibly frustrating is they can have batches where some work well. Some batches that work terribly. And in tons of cases where the customer literally has a mixed bag.

I would just avoid the K120s

Thank you very much for the information. Any suggestions for mid caps?

Best advice I can give is to defer to the big list.

If you're OK with waiting, there's Krytac midcaps rolling out in the near future. I'm not sure when. But you could buy a few inexpensive mags in the interim.

Oh man I can't wait for those! What is a ballpark estimate for their cost and release date? Also, will they be metal or ploymer or both?

I don't have a cost or timeline for them. But they are 130 round and made from differential polymers

Polymer.  There will be two types.  Enhanced and Standard version.  I can't divulge any info right now.
