Hi,

I have recently purchased an SPR/PDW bundle in the UK in grey. I'm happy so far apart from a blemish on the lower receiver which I've been told by the shop is normal for Krytacs (at least in the UK).

Can anyone confirm this?

For me it kind of ruins of the aesthetic of an otherwise beautiful gun.

Thanks

Ralph

I'm not too familiar with these marks as the UK has a variety of compliances attached to importing airsoft. But I don't believe that's a factory-made mark.

I would defer the question to my colleague Adrian Whiting, who is the representative from our UK distributor Shield.

Hello,

These marks only seem to have appeared on more recent imports. They arrive like that at Shield, as opposed to being applied there. If they are not applied prior to export to the UK (at the factory etc) then they may be applied by a third party at import, but I would doubt the UK Border Policing Command does it.

Whatever their origin they are not required by UK firearms law, or as product safety markings. The one on mine reads “077”, which does not correspond to the serial number (unlike the ones in the image above), and I can’t imagine that it is a velocity reading in metres per second or similar (as my muzzle velocity was a lot higher).

A mystery for a bit longer it seems...!

Adrian

I also have that marking on my Spr 2 and was also wondering what it was. I'm from the Netherlands and ordered it here through Qtac.

Those marks are required for EU importation according to our distributor. It's laser edged on or stamp.  They aren't permanent and can be removed.

I have a second hand report that the white does come off with a little bit of acetone or denatured alcohol.
